January 1, 2021, Devmir Legwear Inc. announced our new website http://www.wearsierra.com. We are expanding our manufacturing of legwear to include clothing.
From humble beginnings Wear Sierra has become a provider of fashionable apparel that can be worn for any occasion. We also carry a line of accessories that are unique and will complement your special look. Everything from handbags to scarfs – our line of exquisite fashionwear is growing. Where do we go from here? Phase 1 of our new manufacturing facility is complete. Devmir’s long-range plan is to create the world’s first 100% renewable sock manufacturing facility with a zero carbon footprint. It’s an ambitious undertaking but it’s a journey well worth embarking on. It is the core value of each of Devmir’s three principals, that we should be more than the product we produce. Making socks… you’ve got to make a living somehow, but that’s only part of it. The best part is knowing that we make a difference every single day!

It’s official, the Devmir Dominicana manufacturing facility is now open. With all of the rising fuel costs and rising production cost in China, the Devmir Dominicana plant could not have opened at a better time. Our US clients now have the best of both worlds great quality, competitive pricing, and we are very close to home. It is of no surprise that we are busy cranking out samples for many of you. It’s all coming together at the new Devmir plant in the Dominican Republic. A few more tests and we will be ready to knit. We are on schedule for mid-July launch of the new facility. Devmir’s plant will house 200 machines. To find out more about Devmir Dominicana, call 919-545-5500.
May 20, 2008 – Devmir’s Dominican Republic manufacturing facility is being upfit. Machines have been delivered and installation is in progress. We will have machines up and running in July.
May 7,2008 – Devmir’s team arrives in the Dominican Republic to begin the installation of Devmir’s knitting machines at its new manufacturing facility in the city of Puerto Plata. The factory is twenty minutes from the port and is in a Free Trade Zone park.
December 15 , 2007 – The site for Devmir’s Dominican Republic manufacturing facility has been selected. It will be located in Puerto Plata which is on the northern side of the island. The plant is scheduled to open later in 2008.
September 12, 2007 – Devmir develops a new diabetic sock which will be marketed under the company’s “BeneFits” brand. The new diabetic sock features soy yarn for improved feel and treatment of the skin. The sock also features a relaxed top and a hand-linked toe so that the wearer does not suffer if their feet swell. Early in 2008, Devmir will introduce the silver version of its new diabetic sock featuring HydrySilver yarn for the purposes of making this diabetic sock also an highly effective antibacterial sock.
June 8, 2007 – Devmir begins plans to open a factory in the Dominican Republic for the manufacturing of many of its socks. With current manufacturing done in Turkiye, the new facility will allow for shorter time in transport and more competitive pricing for its wholesale division. The new Devmir factory is scheduled to open in 2008.
